Angela Morano has been constructing headwear since 2007. Each of her hats has a unique expression that is handcrafted through the use of millinery couture techniques. Her designs are typically exclusive, as many are formed on hand-carved shapes that she also constructs. Morano’s hats often suggest humor intertwined with timeless sophistication; frequently drawing on plants, animals, and minimalist art for inspiration.

Her Spring 2011 hat collection was featured at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago as part of their First Fridays Derby-themed event, where she also instructed guests to create their own hat. Currently, Morano teaches hat design for After School Matters, a non-profit organization that delivers enriching and engaging after-school programs to thousands of Chicago teens. Recently, Morano was voted Chicago’s 2011 RAW Artist, Accessory Designer of the Year Nominee.
